As a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate, Elisabeth works with children ages 3-11. After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Experimental Psychology, she moved to Houston and began working at The Westview School, where she taught for four years. During that time, she came to truly understand the crucial role that social and emotional development play in children’s experiences, and she decided to pursue a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of St. Thomas. Since then, she has completed graduate-level internships in both private practice and early childhood education settings, where she was trained in assessment, diagnosis and play therapy skills.
Elisabeth has experience working with children with a variety of presenting concerns, and she strives to help every client understand that they are worthy and capable—without needing to change themselves. She combines child-centered play therapy with DIRFloortime® in order to meet each child where they are.
Having worked with autistic children for four years, Elisabeth cares deeply about advocating for and empowering the autistic population. Multicultural counseling, social justice and advocacy are at the forefront of her assessment and treatment planning, ensuring that every child and family is treated with care and respect.
