Sarah Martin, LPC

Sarah Martin, LPC

Group Leader | Clinician at Ethos Wellness Woodway

Sarah is a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides psychotherapy services to children ages 3-11. She believes in the innate power of children to take charge of their healing, growth and development through play and connection. The therapeutic experience can help children process their thoughts, feelings and actions in a way that validates and celebrates who they are while tackling life’s challenges. Sarah is also passionate about working with children to build lagging skills in areas such as emotional self-regulation and social development. She uses a combination of play therapy techniques and cognitive behavior therapy to treat children who exhibit problems ranging from minor adjustment difficulties to anxiety and/or depression. She also significantly values the role of parents as change agents in their child’s experience and looks forward to partnering with parents through the therapeutic process.

After graduating from Southern Methodist University in 2006 with a degree in psychology, Sarah received her Master of Education in Counseling Degree at The University of St. Thomas in 2010. She received training from renowned Houston-area psychologists in the private practice setting. Sarah also worked for many years in the special school setting serving as director of admissions and lower school counselor at The Parish School (in Houston) before moving to the private practice setting.

A fourth-generation Houstonian, Sarah lives at home with her husband, two children and two dogs, all of whom love to make trouble!
