Bob completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska and received his Master of Social Work in clinical treatment from the University of Houston. Bob has long-term experience as a nationally Certified Employee Assistance Professional and Clinical Social Worker. He has utilized his clinical background in the corporate arena of Fortune 100 companies to provide management consultation, clinical assessment and counseling services for their employees, as well as creating and delivering trainings on various mental health-related topics. In Bob’s psychotherapy work, he utilizes a mixture of therapeutic approaches, including an emphasis on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in both group and individual settings. He currently leads a weekly DBT Skills training group and one of the IOP groups. He works effectively with individuals dealing with a wide range of clinical issues, including anxiety and depression. One of Bob’s special interests involves working with adults of all ages who are dealing with difficult transitions, either professionally or personally. He also works with couples in addressing a variety of concerns that may include such challenges as unresolved conflict, parenting issues and difficulties in communicating effectively. Bob also incorporates his clinical skills into his coaching work with professionals in all stages of their careers. He often utilizes multiple psychometric tools to help them target, and move more effectively toward, their personal and professional goals. These goals may involve career change, leadership development, or developing greater resiliency and wellness. Psychometric tools that he may use with career professionals include an in-depth version of Myers Briggs, Strong Inventory, FIRO-B and ESSI Resiliency Map. Whether in his coaching or psychotherapy practice, Bob utilizes a client-centered approach that is enhanced by his emphatic use of humor. He provides his clients a safe, yet challenging, environment in which to explore and thrive through transition and change.
