Clinical Approach
PSYCHODYNAMICALLY-INFORMED INTEGRATIVE CARE
We treat the whole person in the context of their environment, looking at the biological, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual aspects of their lives.
Individualized Treatment Using Different Therapy Modalities
Just as individuals experience vastly unique life journeys, we plan customized treatment for each person, their condition and their background. We work with each client to set collaborative treatment goals for sustained, holistic healing.
Part of our commitment to integrative care means using different therapy modalities to affect and improve patients’ lives. Ethos Wellness clinicians specialize in delivering all types of evidence-based treatment approaches.
Phases Of Care
Treatment at Ethos Wellness is divided into three phases. We view these milestones, through which our practitioners guide clients, as a cyclical versus a linear process.
Restoration
- Therapists and clients work together to develop meaningful and realistic goals along with pathways towards those goals, and a strong sense of personal agency
- Focused on the restoration of hope
Transformation
- Difficult experiences are transformed into meaningful insights to propel life forward and advance goals
- Centered around the total transformation of the self
Integration
- Once people have established basic recovery from their presenting scenario, we coach them on how to use and integrate their learnings into their daily lives

Our Story
Ethos Wellness was founded in 2018, with the goal of expanding mental health access to more communities through small-by-design, conveniently located healing centers, but the story begins back in 2014. As long-time friends and professionals, co-founders Robert Hilliker and Will Davis developed the idea to provide therapists with centrally-located office space and administrative support tailored specifically to their needs. Ethos Wellness – Lovett (formerly known as The Lovett Center) was born in 2014, but it soon became clear that having 20+ therapists with varying specialities under one roof naturally led to collaboration. The two began to focus their efforts on cultivating a space where therapists could collaborate to serve patients. Lovett went on to become the largest group of specialized therapists in the Houston area, named among the Houston Business Journal’s Fast 100, and through this growth came the desire to expand their offerings to include a full continuum of mental health care. Along with fellow mental health professional Ceci Hudson Torn, Hilliker and Davis founded Ethos Behavioral Health Group, a family of healing centers encompassing a residential recovery center in Round Top, Texas called The Prairie, as well as multiple small, specialized and conveniently-located outpatient healing centers throughout Texas and Illinois under the umbrella of Ethos Wellness, including the acquisition of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy-based Ethos Wellness – Prism (formerly known as The PRISM Center).
Founders
Dr. Ceci Hudson Torn, DSW, IPC Chief Executive Officer
An exemplary, long-spanning career in mental health and finance has put customer-centered-care at the heart of Ceci’s work. Through various opportunities spanning her adult life, she has had the privilege of helping others navigate deep waters. After earning her bachelor’s in Business Administration and Finance from Texas A&M University, she gathered a wealth of professional experience at one of the nation’s largest residential summer camps, which opened her eyes to the growing need for mental health expertise, inspiring her to earn her master’s in Clinical Mental Health from Wake Forest University, and provided her with a unique lens to approach treatment in both outpatient and residential settings. She also gained extensive experience at The Lovett Center. Since co-founding Ethos Behavioral Health Group in 2018, Ceci now spends her time providing clinical services and business leadership across all Ethos healing centers as a Licensed Mental Health Professional and Ethos’ Chief Operations Officer. She and her husband Chris are continuing to serve children and families with the launch of Camp OTX in the Texas Hill Country, all while raising 5 children of their own. Ceci lives with intention and has a great desire to encourage those around her to live intentionally as well. Outside of her profession, she is dedicated to her husband and five children. She loves to read, travel, learn about new cultures and practice yoga. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Social Work from the University of Southern California with a focus on building behavioral health in adolescents and young adults.
