Zack came to Ethos following a long career in higher education administration, holding positions such as Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Success at institutions including Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and the University of Houston. His educational background includes a Master of Education in Student Personnel Services and a PhD in Higher Education Administration.

His professional expertise covers strengths-based coaching and organizational development. He holds certifications as a Gallup StrengthsQuest coach, Appreciative Inquiry consultant, and Leadership Challenge facilitator, and has provided consulting and executive coaching services nationally.

Zack pursued an encore career by enrolling in the MSW program at the University of Houston, where he took part in international study abroad experiences examining mental health treatment systems. His coursework emphasized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, group therapy, brief targeted interventions, children and adolescents, grief and bereavement, and suicidality.

He completed an internship at Menninger Clinic's Adult Treatment Program, providing addiction assessments, individual therapy, psychoeducational groups for substance use and co-occurring disorders, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills coaching. Beyond clinical work, Zack volunteers extensively and was honored as James A. Gwinn Outstanding Volunteer of the Year through Child Advocates.
