The Ethos Wellness internship offers a rich, hands-on learning experience inside a supportive and collaborative clinical environment. Interns are fully integrated into the Ethos community and learn not only through doing, but through reflection, mentorship, and connection.
Each year, Ethos Wellness prepares a cohort of Master's-level interns. Interns work under the clinical supervision of one of our program directors in conjunction with an experienced team of clinicians. We partner with many universities across Texas as well as outside the state.
Our internship is built to develop clinical skill and professional identity at the same time. Interns are part of the team from day one.
Lead and support Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) groups alongside experienced clinicians, building confidence in group process and therapeutic presence.
Participate in weekly multidisciplinary staffings and case consultations with our clinical team to sharpen assessment and treatment planning.
Provide individual therapy on a sliding scale, increasing community access to care while building a caseload under supervision.
Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and support the client intake process from first contact through treatment matching.
Engage in weekly didactics and an intern-specific process group designed for reflection, peer learning, and growth.
Access ongoing staff development and continuing education throughout the internship year.
Applications open in February each year for 2nd-year Master's level students. University of Houston GCSW students should follow standard GCSW Marketplace guidelines and procedures.
This experience is designed to build both clinical skill and professional identity, and it often opens the door to continued work with Ethos Wellness after graduation. Clinicians interested in the next step can also explore the Ethos Institute fellowship and training programs.
Our interns work and learn alongside the full Ethos clinical team.
