Alyssa Valdez (pronounced uh-lee-suh) is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) in the state of Texas. She is licensed to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnoses, psychotropic medication management, and psychotherapy. Alyssa focuses on in-depth mental health assessments, integrative psychiatric consults and treatment, and prescribing medication as necessary.
Alyssa received her education from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she graduated cum laude with her Master's of Science in Nursing. She gained a strong foundation of knowledge throughout her nine years of psychiatric nursing experience in both residential and acute inpatient settings, where she managed the care of patients with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and autism spectrum disorders. Throughout her career, she has enjoyed working collaboratively with families, therapists, clinicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal care for her patients.
Alyssa is dedicated to providing comprehensive care, ongoing support, and education to her patients. She strives to establish strong therapeutic relationships centered around empathy, thoughtfulness, transparency, collaboration, and the pursuit of patient goals. Alyssa works with her patients to develop individualized treatment plans to help them navigate their mental health journeys.
