As an LMSW and LCDC, Amanda has extensive experience working in dual diagnosis settings across multiple levels of care. As an LCDC, Amanda has obtained over ten years of experience working with individuals and families through their recovery from substance use disorders. Amanda went on to complete her Masters in Social Work at the University of Houston in the Graduate College of Social Work in 2022. During her time as a graduate student, Amanda was elected as a Trauma Fellow by the university. This opportunity allowed her to acquire specialized training and clinical experience working with individuals who have been impacted by traumatic events.
Amanda holds a strong belief that healing takes place within the relational context. She utilizes a strengths based, person centered approach when conducting therapy. Amanda specializes in treating mood disorders, substance use disorders, anxiety, and PTSD. She is trained in EMDR and enjoys supporting clients as they experience the benefits from this evidence based approach. Her favorite part of her job is genuinely connecting with her clients and providing a safe space for healing.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys listening to her teen play music, finding new places to enjoy food in Houston and spending time with her loved ones.
