Summer’s work involves helping her clients to identify recurring themes and patterns that may be causing them distress or getting in the way of the lives they want to lead. Others may desire to develop skills to tolerate a broader range of emotions and explore how to live in alignment with their values. Summer work collaboratively with her clients as they integrate their past and present into a more coherent narrative and find pathways forward. Her hopes are that her clients are able to experience increased self-awareness, more fulfilling relationships, and a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in life.
Summer draws from her training in a variety of modalities including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based practices. Her clinical interests include relationship issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and addiction. She works primarily with adults and enjoys working with professionals in high-pressure occupations.
Summer is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology: Specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has experience within multiple settings including inpatient and outpatient care where she provided individual and group therapy to adolescents and adults.
