Couples sometimes feel “lost or stuck” in their relationships. They don’t know why the joy, passion, and connection they first experienced has dwindled into disagreements and feeling detached. Differences which once felt trivial become a source of conflict and frustration, leaving them feeling alone, unsupported and unloved. What’s going on?
Imago Relationship Theory answers three important questions about relationships:
Why are we drawn to each other?
What is the cause of the conflict in our relationship?
How do we turn conflict into connection?
Join Ethos Wellness Certified Imago Relationship Therapist Roddy Young, LCSW for a one-day seminar for couples. With answers in hand¸ participants can experience each other and their relationship in a new way, allowing them to focus on reconnection and growth.
When: July 30, 2022 @ 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Where: Ethos Wellness – Lovett, 900 Lovett Blvd. Houston, TX 77006
Fee: $250.00 per couple (limited to 12 couples)
Objective: Couples will learn about and practice Imago Dialogue, the main tool used throughout Imago Relationship Therapy. Dialogue consists of mirroring what your partner has said, validating their point of view, and empathizing, or understanding and their feelings. It is a simple, respectful and effective way to talk about things that really matter. There is no blame, shame, or criticism. Each person’s point of view is heard in an emotionally-safe manner.
Goals: Use Imago Dialogue in a six-step process toward a conscious partnership: Removing negativity, revisioning and recommitting to the relationship, reimaging your partner, re-romanticizing your connection, and restructuring frustrations. Exploring, understanding and appreciating your differences can become the most joyous experience of your life creating a path to love that vastly exceeds expectations.
