Debbie Sheppard, LCSW, RDDP, JD

Debbie Shepard is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Registered Dual Disorder Professional (RDDP) with many years of both clinical and supervisory experience in the behavioral health field. This includes a position as director of a substance use treatment program, as well as teaching substance use treatment and advanced clinical assessment and diagnosis as an adjunct instructor at Fordham University’s online social work program, a position she remains in currently. In addition to her experience as a director and professor, Debbie was also a subject matter expert for the Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) exam. 

During her previous career as an attorney, Debbie discovered an affinity for the social work aspects of her job and decided to make a career change. She has a passion for working with people to overcome challenges and navigate life more effectively. Now, Debbie works with adults, with a clinical focus on substance use disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, issues of emerging adulthood and relational issues. Her approach is eclectic, drawing from a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy. She has a warm, interactive style and utilizes a strength-based, solution-focused and holistic approach. At home, Debbie is married with two adult children.
