Beth Walsh is an experienced, master’s-level Licensed Professional Counselor with 30 years of experience in Houston’s mental health field. She has worked with adolescents in both an intensive outpatient program (IOP)/partial hospitalization program (PHP) and a residential treatment facility, as well as with adults in hospital, clinic and office settings. Beth also served as an administrator in a geriatric program, working with patients with Parkinson’s disease.
During her 12-year tenure with The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) at Memorial Hermann, Beth was honored with Employee of the Season and nominated for Employee of the Year. While at TIRR, she was a representative on the Partners in Caring committee and served as a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) board member. At the University of Texas Health Science Center, Beth was trained in the use of motivational interviewing and provided counseling sessions to more than 200 clients using a rigorous standardized protocol. Her extensive experience also includes working as an activity director and member of the management team at an assisted living facility.
At the Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation (MHMRA), Beth worked as a clinical team leader, where she supervised and managed a group of bachelor’s and master’s-level clinicians and was honored with the title “Team Morale Booster.” She also spent time as a lead therapist with Discovery Mood & Anxiety Program in Houston, where she provided individual, family and group therapy with adolescents and adults in both IOP and PHP programs. After transitioning from her role as lead therapist, Beth was promoted to program director, providing clinical and operational oversight of the program.
Currently, Beth serves as intake manager at Ethos Wellness – Bellaire, where she conducts many of the adult biopsychosocial intake assessments and serves on the management team.
